What is confirmed
Official: the dog is a distinct step in the setup before shooting ducks. That supports a companion role but not a specific retrieval mechanic, stat, or ranking.
What to inspect in the live build
- Exact option name and description.
- Whether the game displays a measurable before-and-after value.
- Whether the effect applies to one dog, all dogs, or another system.
Keep dog and weapon tests separate
Changing both systems in one run makes attribution impossible. Hold the weapon constant while checking a dog option, then reverse the setup for a weapon comparison.
